Locks are for honest people and children. Why do think so many software companies are going subscription? Artist these days may make some money on downloads, but they make a butt load more on ad revenue, concerts and endorsements. The “Rowling Phenomena” ended about 1998. Issue it in hardcover only. See who has the patience to scan it page by page. The old ways are gone, and nobody seems to know how to deal with modern pirates. I’ll end up a greeter at WalMart with a couple of novels I’ll write at lunch that no one will buy and even if I publish them they’ll get stolen. Art has become altruistic. If you want to make money be a professional sports thug.
