Sailing to Deliver an Important Message

Hard on the heels of last week’s story about the poo-powered street lamp comes one about a ship made from discarded plastics. All the stuff that’s already out there needs to be put to good use, but the real message is that you and I need to reduce or eliminate our use of single trip plastics.

  1. As awareness-raising ideas, this is a good one. Maybe they made the boat a bit too nice looking…?
I had an idea how to create more poo-powered street lighting. Put a little bowl and converter over the lamp and have pigeons and gulls poo in that instead of on cars. My only problem is, how to communicate that idea to the birds, huh? 🙂

    1. Thanks for commenting. I’ve since heard of another project in Amsterdam where they collect plastic from the canals, use ti to build boats, then use the boats to collect more plastic. They are now making furniture from the plastic they collect. It sees there is a great opportunity here for social entrepreneurs. https://lifeandsoulmagazine.com/2019/02/10/plastic-whale-create-whale-inspired-circular-office-furniture-from-plastic-fished-from-amsterdam-canals/
